I also have a Performance Mouse MX which has the same scroll wheel, but it isn't a good mouse for gaming, and it is wireless. The free-scroll wheel is Logitech's design and I believe they are the only company to use it. My questions is, does anyone know if there are any other mice out there utilizing a similar free-scrolling wheel design? (hopefully a larger mouse than the g502) If I could, I would take the scroll wheel from the g502 and place it in something like the naos 7000, and basically never buy another optical mouse again. Unfortunately, logitech chose to trim the width of the g502 substantially from older models, so that the area where my fingers used to comfortably rest on the right side of the g400 now just drag along the mousepad on the proteus. Here's my problem - I have big hands with long spindly fingers, and only feel comfortable with the largest of mice, with designs like the mionix naos and logitech g400/500 being the absolute perfect size. Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum RGB Tunable Gaming Mouse, 12,000 DPI On-The-Fly DPI Shifting, Personalized Weight and Balance Tuning with (5) 3.6g Weights, 11 Programmable Buttons. I catch myself doing the same 'flick' motion with other mice before realizing I'm not using a g502. But once I got used to it, the ability to blast through long text files at high speed with a flick and stop on a dime anywhere has really spoiled me. The option to shift to free scrolling seems like a small thing, and almost detrimental due to the hypersensitivity. However, as long as you're careful enough, it hasn't been much of a problem for me.I'm a software developer and the g502 has changed my world. Next, when clicking left click you may occasionally hit the DPI buttons to the side. This is most likely just something wrong with my model, but I can't complain too much for the price I got it for. To solve this, I simply made the Sniper Button my middle click. It requires a very small amount of pressure to register the click, and this has affected me when scrolling, as I sometimes put some pressure on the scroll wheel and that's triggered the middle click in a browser. This is probably just something wrong with my model, but before I even click down on the middle click I push a tiny bit, and it triggers the button to press. The first is that the middle click is sensitive. I've only encountered two problems with the mouse. The tactile mode of the scroll wheel is what I usually use, but the free-scroll mode can be used for something like scrolling through a long pdf file. The mouse is already quite heavy, but if you want to add more weight with the weights with the mouse, you can customize which section of the mouse should be heavier. Finally, the weights and dual-mode scroll wheel are nice add-ons. The onboard memory has also served h elpful for setting different profiles for different games I play. Under Device Manager, you have to check for Logitech G502. The lighting is also customizable, and that's good if you want it to match your setup. To fix this issue, follow the below steps: Press & hold on the Windows button and X together. No problems here with consistency! Every switch being programmable is something helpful for me. However, when you clicked the forward button, you would need to drive it halfway for it to register. I had a problem with the back/forward buttons on the side where when you clicked the back button, you would need to push it all the way for it to register. Each click for buttons are crisp and feel about equal on my previous mouse. Second, the clicks and programmability are amazing. Any type of mouse gripper should be able to use it. First off, ergonomics are great! It's a mouse for right-handed people, but it feels great! Everything seems designed well for hand positioning.
